ASEZ STAR Gratitude Campaign in Middletown

On February 9, 2025, the ASEZ STAR Students in Middletown, CT hosted a heartfelt event to show their deep appreciation for their teachers and principals. The event aimed to highlight the Gratitude Campaign, a key component of the Good Student project, which encourages students to spread positivity and appreciation in their local communities and schools. With help from their parents and guardians, they created care packages. These packages included winter essentials to keep them healthy during the cold months.

While preparing the gratitude boxes, ASEZ STAR volunteer Caleb Avila excitedly shared, “We want to express our thanks to our teachers, for always helping us.”

In total, just under 50 boxes were assembled with great care and detail. After putting the boxes together, it was time to deliver them to the school staff!  Over the course of the week, they personally delivered the gratitude boxes one-by-one.

A Moment of Gratitude Comes to Life

Their teachers and principals received the hearts of their students with thankfulness and joy. “It was nice, a lot of times the things the teachers do go unnoticed and unappreciated. So, it meant a lot to have a student show some appreciation and be thankful for what we do for the students every day”, said Mr. Schwartz of Ansonia High School.  Principal Paul Giasantti added, “It’s always good to tell people when you appreciate them; it’s a lot of positivity behind it. Especially sometimes we can get too negative, especially when times get tough, so it’s really important.”

Overall, this small but meaningful gesture warmed the hearts of the educators, whose dedication often goes unnoticed, reminding everyone of the importance of showing gratitude.

ASEZ STAR aims to continue spreading joy, love, and appreciation; one act of kindness at a time.
