The Water of Life
“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come!’ Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.”
Revelation 22:17
“One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, ‘Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.’ And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God”
Revelation 21:9–10
Apostle John, author of the book of Revelation, mentioned seeing the bride, the wife of the Lamb (Jn 1:29). However, when he saw the bride, he described it as the Holy City Jerusalem descending from Heaven. What does this mean?
“But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.”
Galatians 4:26
Apostle Paul, addressing the Early Church members, explained that the Jerusalem above, coming down from Heaven, is our Mother. So, in Revelation, the Spirit and the bride represent God the Father and God the Mother. Revelation 22:17 prophesies how They will both appear together in the last days, providing the water of life to God’s people. Furthermore, the Bible outlines the blessings that follow receiving the water of life.
“There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.”
Revelation 22:5
