Elijah Must Restore God’s Teachings
The prophet Malachi testified that before the last day comes, Elijah would appear, remind God’s people of the decrees given to Moses, and turn their hearts back to God.
“Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel. See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents …”
Malachi 4:4–6
The original Elijah lived when idolatry was rampant, and the hearts of God’s people were far from God. He put to death 850 false prophets who worshipped Baal and restored the altar of God (1Ki 18:16–40). Similarly, the spiritual Elijah must do away with falsehood and restore God’s teachings. In addition to that, he must fulfill the role of testifying to the Savior who comes after him (Mal 3:1; Mt 11:13–14).
Second Coming Christ Ahnsahnghong fulfilled the role of Elijah by restoring the feasts of God and the altar that was ruined during the Dark Ages. He exposed false doctrines and fulfilled the mission of testifying to the Savior who would follow him: God the Mother.
