The Origin of Our Soul
The soul has been a subject of inquiry for ages. Since the soul is invisible, only God, who owns the soul, can speak of its origin and destiny. For this reason, as people of God living with hope for heaven, we should strive to understand the existence of the soul and examine it through the Words of God.
Apostle Paul mentioned about those who would enter heaven as follows:
“I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God …”
1 Corinthians 15:50
If Apostle Paul says that the body cannot enter the kingdom of heaven, there must be another body that does. As it is written:
“… it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.”
1 Corinthians 15:44
“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”
Matthew 16:26
“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.”
Romans 8:5
When we choose to devote our time and efforts to actions that align with God’s will, we sow seeds that will bear an everlasting reward. Christ’s life on Earth serves as a blueprint for the life we should aspire to—a life centered on obeying God’s commands, embracing love and integrity, and actively engaging in acts of kindness for the betterment of those around us.
